The NAPHA AGM is approaching fast and we anticipate to make this an unforgettable event.

Please register for the AGM - a few last seats are available. Complete the registration form or contact the office to register.

Whilst we have arranged for payment facilities at the AGM, please ensure that membership fees and AGM attendance are settled prior to the AGM to allow for quick registration on the morning of the event.

The Examination for the Professional Hunting and Master Hunting Guide will take place on the 28th November 2018 at Heja Game Lodge.

Presenters at our AGM


The following presenters will share their knowledge and insights with us:

Ms Nangula Uaandja

Nangula is the Country Senior Partner of PwC Namibia, has over 20 years’ experience in auditing and has served as partner on audits of various financial services institutions, state-owned enterprises, energy and utilities as well as donor-funded organisations. She has also been involved in non-audit work such as fraud investigation, assisting clients with budgetary processes, the analysis and interpretation of financial statements, presentations on the roles and responsibilities of directors and a host of other relevant topics. Nangula’s qualifications include a B.Comm (Cum Laude), B.Compt and she obtained in April 2018 her Master in Business Leadership (Cum Laude) and was chosen as the best MBL student overall. Nangula is a Chartered Accountant by profession.

Dr Morgan Hauptfleisch:

Dr Morgan Hauptfleisch holds a BSc.Honours degree in Ecology and Botany, an MSc. in Plant Ecology and Wildlife Management and a PhD in Environmental Management. He is a senior lecturer and research coordinator at the Namibia University of Science and Technology’s (NUST's) Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Sciences. He has authored numerous journal papers, book chapters and popular articles on these subjects. He serves on the board of the International Association for Impact Assessment, the Southern African Institute for Environmental Assessment and the council of the Namibia Chamber of Environment. His major research collaborators include the University of St. Andrews (UK), Dartmouth College (USA), Potsdam University (Germany) and North-west University (RSA).

Mr Angus Middleton:

Angus Middleton is the Executive Director of the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) he has over 15 years of senior management experience and brings together a relevant mix of knowledge and technical experience in, environmental economics, ecological resource management, agricultural management, hunting and biodiversity policies. His work at the Namibia Nature Foundation covers a very broad array of conservation and sustainable development aspects and ranges from policy engagement through to programmatic development and down to field implementation. He was previously the Secretary General of the Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU, where he worked right across Europe at the interface between international, supra-national, national and local policies. He has a passion for raptors, a penchant for fishing and a never-ending fascination of nature. He holds an MSc in Environmental Economics and Policy from Imperial College London and a BSc in Ecological Resource Management from Newcastle University.

Mr Kenneth Uiseb:
Kenneth Uiseb has a Masters degree in Environmental Management with specialisation in biodiversity conservation. Kenneth works for the Ministry of Environment and Tourism as deputy director for wildlife monitoring and research. Kenneth has a diverse interest in the conservation and environmental management with specific research and professional interest in the following areas: conservation genetics, wildlife ecology, environmental assessment and management, resource economics, socio-ecological systems and species management planning. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in proposal writing, project management, project proposal review and grant-making. Kenneth volunteers of his time to promote wildlife research and serves in a voluntary capacity on the steering committees of various organisations funding environmental work in Namibia. 
Kenneth has worked for the Namibia Nature Foundation and is proud to serve the organisation in the capacity of a trustee.

Mr Kai-Uwe Denker
A passionate Big Game Hunter led NAPHA as its President from 2012 to 2016. Awarded with the prestigious NAPHA Conservationist of the Year award, he was the initiator of the Erongo Mountain Rhino Sanctuary Trust and is a member of the IUCN. Kai-Uwe has written 5 books and was also instrumental in establishing Namibia's own Age-Related Trophy Measuring System.

The new Rhino Diamond bracelets have been specifically created as an initiative to support the plight of the Rhino in Namibia. For every additional bracelet sold, a share of the proceeds will go towards Rhino Conservation and anti-poaching efforts in Namibia.

Sincere congratulations to NAPHA President, Danene van der Westhuyzen for being recognized by OPHAA (Outfitters and Professional Hunters Association of Africa) for outstanding contribution and leadership in the Hunting and Conservation Community.
Director of NACSO, Maxi Louis, did Namibia proud by presenting on Conservation and Community support at the same event.
Well done, Maxi!
Danene and Tanja represented NAPHA at this event and fruitful discussions and interaction was had with various countries’ government officials, USFW Officials, EU Representatives and OPHAA members. We will provide further feedback upon return to Namibia.
