Wildlife Bill Draft - last chance for input

This week MET released the last draft of the newly proposed Wildlife Bill. Stakeholders will be afforded one last chance for input, prior to the Bill being send to Cabinet for approval.
We urge all NAPHA members to peruse this document in detail and submit your recommendations to ceo@napha.com.na - your submission must reach the office by Friday morning, 20 July at 08h00.

NAPHA Update - Social Media Restrictions

NAPHA Statement
 
As a result of our meeting with the Honourable Minister Pohamba Shifeta, WRN will be hosting a meeting to form an industry opinion for further interaction with MET.
This consultative interaction will be to draft guidelines for publication of marketing material on public platforms and how best to ethically use hunting promotional and personal experience materials to promote both the hunter, outfitter and farmer’s recreational and conservation interest.
 
The meeting will be held at Heja Lodge, on 27 July 2018, at 14:30.

Tender: Kwando Conservancy


The Bwabwata National Park is situated in north-eastern Namibia and consists of all the land between the Kavango and Kwando Rivers in Namibia, plus the area known as Mahango. The Park is very significant for the conservation of biodiversity in Namibia as it protects some of the last remaining riparian forests along the Kavango River, and also provides formal conservation status over a large portion of the Kwando River. The Kwando North Lodge Concession (Kwando North) is situated at the existing Old Susuwe station within the Kwando Core Area.

The Kwando Conservancy has been awarded a 25 year head concession contract for the Kwando North Lodge Concession by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET). The Kwando Conservancy, assisted by MET, now seeks proposals from private parties to help develop and implement the concession. Interested parties are required to register for the tender process and obtain the Request for Proposal (RFP) document. Bidder registration is compulsory to qualify for tendering and no registration will be allowed after close.

Tender: Kyaramacan Association

The Kyaramacan Association has been awarded a 20 year head concession contract for the White Sands - N//goabaca Tourism Lodge Concession by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET). The Kyaramacan Association, assisted by MET, now seeks proposals from private parties to help develop and implement the concession. Interested parties are invited to register for the tender process and obtain the Request for Proposal (RFP) document.

Tender: Kuiseb Delta Development Trust


The Kuiseb Delta Development Trust (KDDT) Concession is situated within the Dorob National Park (DNP). The KDDT has been awarded a 25 year contract to build campsites inside Dorob National Park and to traverse with activities inside the Namib Naukluft Park. KDDT, assisted by MET, now seeks proposals from private partners to develop and utilise the KDDT Concession. Interested parties are invited to register for the tender process and obtain the request for proposal (RFP) document from the MET Concession Unit.

Tender: Balyerwa Conservancy (Mudumu Campsites)


The Mudumu National Park is situated south of Kongola and is bordered by the Kwando River and the Balyerwa, Dzoti, Mashi, Sobbe and Wuparo Conservancies. The Park offers a wide diversity of wildlife especially during the dry months and is known for the remote woodlands and pan systems of Eastern Mudumu. The Concession Area is situated in the Mudumu South Complex of the south-eastern part of the Mudumu National Park. The two development sites are the Balyerwa and Mvudu campsites.

The Balyerwa Conservancy has been awarded a 25 year head concession contract for the Mudumu Campsites Concession by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET). The Balyerwa Conservancy, assisted by MET, now seeks proposals from private parties to help develop and implement the concession. Interested parties are required to register for the tender process and obtain the Request for Proposal (RFP) document. Bidder registration is compulsory to qualify for tendering and no registration will be allowed after close.
